What You’ll Learn
Our Senior group is made up of homeschoolers ages 13-16 years old, or who are in 8th grade and beyond. In this group, we focus on building a strong foundation in science, becoming responsible young adults, and expressing ourselves in creative and respectful ways.

STEM
Our STEM segment is all about bringing science to life. We explore science, technology, engineering, and math in a way that kids understand. This curriculum has been created by a certified teacher with the Texas science standards (TEKS) in mind, but without focussing on them. This means that if your student ever needs to return to the public school system, they won’t be lost. At Viora, we DO science. And we do the science that actually matters to life.
Community Lunch Time
Each week, we will enjoy lunch as a group. We’ll use this time to build community, foster relationships, and learn about proper table manners. From how to talk at an appropriate level, to how to resolve simple conflict among friends, the lunch table is a valuable place to learn the soft skills that we carry into adulthood.
Life Skills
Our Senior Life Skills segment goes a little deeper into what it takes to function in society. We’ll discuss everything from applying for jobs, to budgeting with real numbers, to digital safety. This is arguably the most valuable piece of Viora. This is the part where kids are able to learn and practice skills they will use every single day in a low-stakes, safe, and guided environment.
Discovery Lab
This one is harder to put a finger on. It doesn’t really fit into a box. It’s kind of a mashup of history and art, with a sprinkle of community service, and a dash of home economics class. And the best part - there’s even student choice days where the kids decide our topic.
